Our journey toward making DeFi accessible for all would still only be a dream if not for our valued investors and partners. NewTribe Capital is one of these strategic partners who have played a role in our story.

Based out of the Middle East, NewTribe Capital is a Venture Capital Private Equity Group that invests in impactful projects in the blockchain ecosystem. Started in 2019, the company has invested in more than 70 projects so far. We’ve reached out to NewTribe to understand the dynamics behind their investment decisions. Here’s what we’ve managed to find out!

Q: Before we start, please introduce yourself and share a bit about your role in the company?

Ans: First of all thank you for this opportunity. My name is Victor Olmo and I am one of the fund partners at NewTribe Capital. I manage the PR activities for the company and also act as a key person analyzing projects and creating valued connections.

Q: What made you choose to invest in MRHB DeFi out of so many organizations in this space?

Ans: Being a Venture Capital Institution we come across many DeFi based projects but what caught our attention for MRHB DeFi was its vision of bringing Islamic values to the DeFi ecosystem, rather than making it an exclusive “Muslim only” offering.

It is powered by a team of dedicated experts in the fields of finance, technology, and Islamic Finance & Theology. Through the technical expertise and extensive knowledge of how the Islamic ecosystem works, Marhaba DeFi will be successful in bridging the gap between the Muslim Community and the Blockchain world.

Q: How do you see this collaboration helping your company as well as MRHB?

Ans: We have always been curious about new ideas and innovations that empower the Blockchain space with their unique goals and we are proud to say that MRHB DeFi is one of them. The regional audience and community are yet unaware of the potential that Decentralized Finance and Blockchain technology holds, whereas MRHB DeFi bridges that gap by leveraging DeFi. That helps us peek into the untapped market of Islamic Finance and bring financial services to the public.

Q: What do you think about the potential that the DeFi sector holds?

Ans: We are heading towards a great transformation in the Blockchain space which is being led by DeFi, NFTs, and Metaverse. The DeFi ecosystem is now home to a lot of new opportunities for innovation including gaming, security, and governance, smart contract development and deployment as well as the NFT marketplace.

Knowing all of this, we are pretty much confident that MRHB will live up to bringing great things to the market by leveraging the upcoming tech in the DeFi ecosystem.

Q: Can you walk us through the story behind NewTribe Capital?

Ans: Back in 2019, when Bitcoin was merely just another cryptocurrency that people were still skeptical of, the team of Newtribe Capital, then a small group of individuals and industry experts, believed the technology underlying Bitcoin would bring about a once-in-a-lifetime seismic shift in the financial industry. The future is bright for everyone and we aim to make it brighter by investing in blockchain projects.

Today, we, as a team, work together to back the Blockchain innovators, invest in people, and bring excellence to the table. Thus, this makes us proud to call ourselves a Crypto and DeFi-based Venture Capital that thrives to invest in excellence.

Q: What are the crucial factors that you consider when planning for an investment?

Ans: NTC works closely with a wide range of Launchpads to help upcoming projects enter the market in the most effective way possible. Moreover, before investing in any project we thoroughly look into the idea of the project as well as the team behind it.

Q: What are your most successful investments so far?

Ans: The year 2021 has been one of tremendous growth for our company and we are really thankful to come across such amazing projects that are revolutionizing the blockchain ecosystem with their unique ideas. To name a few from the last quarter: Launchpool, Paid, Unido, Fractal, and Poolz are some which have resulted in great returns and made market impact.

We look forward to partnering with more of such projects soon in the near future.

Q: Any exciting investments or partnerships in the near future that you’d like to share with us?

Ans: Well, there are a couple of investments and partnerships that we moved into in the last few months. We don’t wish to reveal the names yet. All that we can say for now is that we are looking forward to investing in the growing and upcoming projects from the DeFi and Gaming/Metaverse sector as we see great potential in these areas.
